A magnificent seaside landscape evoking a figure walking on the beach of Sainte-Luce in Martinique

 This seaside landscape from a travel souvenir illustrates a young woman walking on the beach early in the morning towards the village of Sainte-Luce. The rising sun offers an almost horizontal light that enhances the relief of the coastal elements. In the distance, the bay of Sainte-Anne is still enveloped in a morning humidity that will soon be chased away by the trade winds.
 
This landscape painting is done in a contemporary pointillist technique using a set of rectangular touches juxtaposed and superimposed with vivid colors. The work with the spatula allows the development of a superb texture reminiscent of the waves of the sea.
