Interpretation of the artist
What grabbed me about this character is first of all her sweetness and her attitude. She abandons herself completely to her deep thoughts. Her momentary absence brings us back to our own lives, who has not experienced a moment of distraction?
The choice of colors is intentional and favors meditation, the color of the background reminds us a little of the turquoise of a swimming pool or of the sea, the character is softly lit so as to bring a dialogue of colors between the lit and the shaded areas
This work is probably one of the initial pieces that led me on the path of contemporary pointillism in which I apply the paint in rectangular touches juxtaposed and superimposed in the most random way possible. This technique was confirmed in the series Faces of Africa that you can see on this site.
